The Richmond District of the Virginia Conference is comprised of 69 churches and a membership of over 41,000, served by approximately 85 clergy. The district covers churches located in parts of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, New Kent and Powhatan Counties, and the City of Richmond.
The Richmond District seeks to be a resource to the leaders and members of these churches as they carry out their mission and ministry. The Richmond District is particularly supportive of three unique ministries:
- Shalom Farms – a ministry that engages individuals and churches in addressing the issues of food security in the metro Richmond area.
- Westview on the James – a Christian camp and retreat center of the Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Richmond Districts located in Goochland County.
- Pace Campus Ministry – a Wesley Foundation in ministry with the students and community of Virginia Commonwealth University.
The 2013 Virginia Annual Conference theme is “Lord, Teach Us to Pray.”
The logo was designed by Cathryn Wooton of the Conference Communications office.
